"Add a Class" Promotion + Steppin' Out October News

We've been so happy to see both new and returning faces in the studio these past couple of weeks. It's always a treat to watch the children settle into their new classes and routines. Even this early in the year, they are all doing great and we're looking forward to a very strong season of growth and learning. Please read on for more about what's going on at the studio this month.

"ADD A CLASS" PROMOTION
A couple of our classes still have space, so we're offering something very special for the month of October only. Students new to these classes may attend any one of them for up to two weeks at no cost! (Sorry, this offer is not valid for students currently enrolled in these classes.) Tell your friends--students new to the studio are also eligible. "Add a Class" Promotion classes include: 

Tu 9:30 a.m. tap/pre-ballet/tumbling (ages 2.5-3.5)
Tu 5 p.m. tap/jazz (ages 8-12)
W 5 p.m. ballet (ages 6-9)

HALLOWEEN AT STEPPIN' OUT
This month our dancers are learning Halloween-themed routines (at age-appropriate levels) in their classes. These dances are always big crowd pleasers! But even more exciting is the opportunity to dress up. Please feel free to bring your dancers in Halloween costumes to any class the week of October 28th through November 1st. We can't wait to see them.

MOVEMENT OF THE MONTH: WALKING BACKWARDS
Everyone can walk, but how many of our dancers can walk backwards with grace and poise? Sometimes parents don't realize how challenging and productive something as simple as walking backwards can be. Not only does it develop balance, coordination and confidence, it also creates an awareness of all the dimensions of space. This is great to have when sharing the dance floor with classmates during class and crucial when it's time for the performance. Have your child practice at home to music--just make sure to clear a space before you get started!

QUICK TIP
Bring a water bottle with your child to class. A quick water break helps dancers refocus and having a personal bottle means no distracting visits to the kitchen in the middle of class. Plus it's the eco-friendly choice!
