Welcome to another new year at Steppin' Out Dance Studio! I have heard from many of you this summer about your excitement to register for the 2014-2015 season and want to assure you that we at the studio are feeling the same way. So I'm pleased to announce that not only is it now time to do so, but also that we've expanded our offerings for fall to bring you a full schedule of options for your dancers. We hope you'll find the perfect class.
SCHEDULE & CURRICULUM
Steppin' Out will begin classes shortly after Labor Day on Wednesday, September 3rd. Our schedule is available at http://www.steppinoutsf.com/p/classes.html Please take a special look at our expanded weekday classes.
Steppin' Out strives to respect the diversity of our community and the dignity of each of our students as we create a warm, nurturing environment for students to grow and thrive. Our year is composed of a two-part cycle: During the months of September to December, students learn dance vocabulary and technique. From January to June, students begin working on dances to be performed in costume at the annual June recital for family and friends, a polished stage production. From year to year, students remain together with their cohort in classes that grow in complexity as the dancers grow in ability in accordance with Steppin' Out's emphasis on community, connection, and group cohesion.
NEW THIS YEAR: CLASS COMMITMENT POLICY
Many of you are aware that we have maintained an extensive wait list for the majority of our classes over the past year. Due to high demand, classes that are fully enrolled will no longer be open for drop-in or single class purchases. Instead, to retain your spot, we ask that families pay by the month and provide 30-days written notice of intent to vacate a spot. We very much appreciate your support of these new policies which make it easier for us to serve more of the many families who wish to dance with us.
ENROLLMENT
All students, whether new or continuing, must register by 5 p.m. on Friday, August 15th in order to secure a first-round spot for the 2014-15 season. Any student who is returning from last year and who registers by the deadline is guaranteed a seat in his or her continuing class. Students who wish to change classes and new families enrolling atSteppin' Out for the first time should indicate their preferences and will receive a prompt response detailing their options. Some more advanced classes do require specific placement by Angela and/or an audition to ensure students are matched to the appropriate level.
To enroll, please either call the studio at 415.821.7884 or email steppinoutsf@gmail.com with the following information: your name and phone number; your child's name, age, and birth date; and the desired class. You will receive a confirmation within hours of your request.
Please note that class space is limited and registration is first come, first served for the appropriate level after continuing student placement. Wait lists will be maintained for each class and families will be contacted as soon as space becomes available. Please be assured that we will do our utmost to help your family find the class that works for you.
