Free Classes in February + January News

Happy New Year! We've returned from break with fresh energy and now our students are beginning to work on their dances for the June performance. Attendance is very important this semester as each week our dancers will learn or refine their routines. And don't forget to practice at home! We'll be posting a list of songs so you can download your child's on iTunes and turn your living room into a stage (families without internet access should contact us for assistance).

FREE CLASSES IN FEBRUARY
Please help us spread the word that absolutely ANYONE, whether new to the studio or old friends, is welcome to attend the following classes that still have space available during the month of February ONLY: Wednesday 5 p.m. ballet (ages 6-9), Thursday 3 p.m. hip hop (ages 7-10), Thursday 3 p.m.jazz (ages 7-10), Thursday 4 p.m. hip hop (ages 12-16). Come as often as you'd like during the month of February. It's a perfect opportunity to check out a new style or just get a little extra practice.

MOVEMENT OF THE MONTH: FINDING BALANCE
As we experience California's current drought we are reminded of the importance of balance, not only for the earth but also for ourselves. This month, encourage your dancers to practice balance in their own bodies. Younger dancers can try standing on one leg and imagining their standing foot growing roots into the ground. Older dancers should practice this in releve! And as a gift to the earth this month, encourage your dancer to bring a water bottle to the studio and with them in general. They'll be more hydrated while protecting the earth's resources by adopting reusable containers.

HAVE YOUR BIRTHDAY PARTY WITH US
We still have a limited number of spots for spring birthday parties of any kind, from basic to turn-key, at Steppin' Out! For more information, visithttp://www.steppinoutsf.com/p/birthdays.html You may also schedule a party for summer or beyond.

QUICK TIP
Practicing the routines they are learning is so important for our dancers, but even just listening to the music helps. So keep those performance songs cued up on your stereo, even in the car.
